The latest expansion pack for World of Warcraft is finally out and so far, “Legion” is proving to be an incredible addition to the world of Azeroth. In fact, many are contending that it might just be the best expansion pack that Blizzard has released. The engaging content and smooth integration seem to support this theory. For those who haven’t gone back to the MMORPG, beware of spoilers ahead.
As Polygon reports, players were informed of “Legion” going live by two methods. For those who had reached level 100, their experience bars came back on, thus prompting that they could proceed to start gunning for that 110 level cap. For the other players, they got an avian messenger, carrying a missive about new quests for new areas. In both cases, the transition was seamless and involved no drama whatsoever.
The implementation of the new quest lines for the expansion pack showcases improvements over the last one, which indicates that Blizzard took a lot away from “The Warlords of Draenor,” which was released back in 2014. For “Legion,” players simply need to interact with a single non-playable character and off they go.
One of the new things for players to look forward to include “Order Halls” that house characters of different classes, where they will find new missions relating to artifact weapons that are different for each class and specializations. After the missions to retrieve these weapons, players are then left to their own devices, Kotaku notes.
The artifact weapon-retrieval missions themselves are not simple fetch quests either, as they involve several obstacles and challenges that will pose specific problems for each class and specialization to deal with. Anyone who doesn’t know their characters, class, and abilities well enough will find that getting the weapons is no easy task, and this is just the first few hours of the expansion.
